The Cursa Muntanyes d'Artà runs through the massif in the extreme north-eastern end of Mallorca, in the setting of the Natural Park of the Península de Llevant. It is a low but very rugged mountain landscape, with summits such as Puig Morell and Puig de Ferrutx rising directly above the sea, and terrain of garrigue, carritx and old possessió paths that makes the distance harder than its altitude suggests. It takes place in December, when the heat is no longer an obstacle in this part of the island, and is organised by the Club Atletisme Artà and the Town Council of Artà within the calendar of the Federació d'Atletisme de les Illes Balears. The 2026 edition announces a long race of 30 kilometres and approximately 1100 metres of elevation gain, and a Mini Cursa of 16 kilometres and approximately 400 metres of ascent.
