KV Castro Valnera

The Kilómetro Vertical Castro Valnera celebrates its 15th edition on 23 May 2027 in Vega de Pas (Cantabria). It starts at La Estribera, at 520 metres, passes by the Helguerón and Culina bothies, and finishes at Alto los Dujos, at 1,709 metres, one of the summits of Castro Valnera. It is 4.2 kilometres with 1,189 metres of elevation gain and a maximum gradient of 72.3%. The start is timed in groups of four runners every 45 seconds and trekking poles are allowed. There are liquid refreshment stations with spring water in Culina, in a channel and at the finish. It counts for the Cantabria Championship of vertical races, admits a maximum of 150 runners, and entry for non-federated runners costs 30 euros.
