La Desértica

La Desértica is a civic-military event organised by Club Deportivo La Desértica, linked to the Tercio «Don Juan de Austria» 3.º de La Legión. Its eighth edition will be held on 17 October 2026, with the start on Avenida Federico García Lorca in Almería and the finish at Parque de los Bajos de Roquetas de Mar, passing through fifteen municipalities in the province. The on-foot programme brings together the Individual March and Team March categories, both over 71 km. The route combines fields and trails in Almería and features a high level of physical demand; the organisers require a medical certificate for those taking part in the walking categories. The event takes place with the support of sports organisations and local administrations.
