Ruta de los Molinos

La Ruta de los Molinos is a mountain race held in October in the Vega de San Mateo, on the summit of Gran Canaria, with start and finish in the built-up area of the municipality. In 2026 it celebrates its 10th edition and is organised by Arista Eventos; it owes its name to the old watermills that line the ravines of the area. The route runs along trails, royal tracks and ravines among chestnut trees, walnut trees and mid-slope orchards, with views of Roque Nublo and the Caldera de los Marteles. It offers 3 distances: the Larga at 26 kilometres and 1,455 metres of elevation gain, the Media at 12 kilometres and 685 metres, and the Corta at 7 kilometres and 380 metres.
