The Trail Menorca Camí de Cavalls is one of the great classics of the European ultradistance calendar and is contested along the Camí de Cavalls, the historic trail that completely encircles the island of Menorca. Its reigning distance covers the full 185 kilometres of the entire ring, alternating the north coast, rocky and windy, with red coves, and the south, with white sandy beaches and ravines, in a crossing that is completed by running over 2 days and 1 night. Organised by Elitechip, it brings together more than 3,000 runners across 8 categories, ranging from the full circuit to an introductory route of 11 kilometres, so that each distance covers a different section of the same trail. The 100-kilometre race is run largely at night and the 44-kilometre event is concentrated on the south beaches, allowing participants to choose both the challenge and the scenery at the same time.
