La Gurrinada is a night-time mountain race linked to the Festa de la Patrona de Santa Maria de Martorelles. The event takes place around Can Gurri, in a setting of hills and paths close to the municipality, with a course designed to enjoy the mountains at night. Its unique character, the night-time start and the atmosphere of a major festival make it a very special date in the local calendar. The organisers remind participants that it is compulsory to carry a headlamp, and that the event is reserved for those over 18 years old, although under-18s may take part with authorisation or accompanied. At the finish line, liquid refreshments are provided, along with beer at the end, a sandwich and a drink, as well as the festive atmosphere typical of the Festa Major. Pre-registration and participation regulations are also provided for those who want to prepare for the race in advance.
