Marató del Montseny

La Marató del Montseny celebrates its 15th edition with a start from the town square of Montseny, in the heart of the Natural Park of Montseny, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The route runs almost entirely along tracks and footpaths, with sections on forest tracks and paths, and links summits and iconic landscapes such as the Turó de l’Home, les Agudes and the summit of Matagalls. It is a demanding and highly scenic event, designed for those seeking a genuine and technical mountain marathon. The organisers provide 5 refreshment stations, timing control, baggage storage, medical assistance, photography and the option of voluntary withdrawal at marked points. There are no cups at the refreshment stations, so each runner must carry their own container. Bib collection is also available in Montseny, there is a transport service for drop-outs, and a clear set of rules on recommended equipment, cut-off points and the use of trekking poles.
