Matutrail Albaxera

La Matutrail Albaxera starts in Matute, in the Alto Najerilla, and climbs to the mountain ranges that link the valley with the Rioja Demanda. Its all-terrain route accumulates 1,600 metres of elevation gain over 25 kilometres through beech woods, pine forests and the pasture hills that dominate the valley, with a continuous profile and no long stretches for rest. In 2026 it forms part of the Circuito Riojano de Trail Mountain Races Chiruca Experience and also hosts the Campeonato de La Rioja de Trail Running of the Federación Riojana de Atletismo, which makes it one of the key fixtures of the Rioja season. Alongside the race, a walk is offered on a shorter route.
