Rialp Matxicots

Rialp Matxicots is a trail running event in Pallars Sobirà that brings runners together for a high-mountain weekend, with the start and epicentre in Rialp. The race was born with the idea of linking iconic summits in the area, such as the Montsent de Pallars and the Pic de l’Orri, and today it runs along trails in the Vall d’Àssua, the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes and the Natural Park of Alt Pirineu. The 2026 edition will take place on 19 and 20 September, with Saturday reserved for the adult races and Sunday for the younger participants. The programme combines a long and very demanding route, an alpine half distance and a more accessible popular distance, as well as the Matxixics for children. The terrain is pure mountain, with steep elevation gain, deep valleys, forests and Pyrenean villages.
