Ruta Solidaria del Avión

The Ruta Solidaria del Avión will celebrate its 16th edition on 30 August 2026 in Jérez del Marquesado, Granada. It is a non-competitive mountain activity that recalls the route followed during the accident and subsequent rescue of an American aircraft, which crashed on 8 March 1960 in the Paraje de las Paratas de Chorreras Negras, on the north-facing slope of the Picón de Jérez. The day features a 25-kilometre walk through the surroundings of Sierra Nevada and through points linked to that aid operation, in which local residents from the region took part. The route combines mountain trails, historical memory and landscape, with a solidarity and rambling approach. The published entry for this edition has a general price of 7 euros.
