BENEMÉRITA TRAIL

BENEMÉRITA TRAIL celebrates its 11th edition on 3 October 2026 in Alfacar. The event has its start and finish at Campamento La Alfaguara and is organised by Asociación Deportiva Alfamérita and the Town Council of Alfacar, with institutional collaboration from the Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Granada. The event maintains a charitable purpose linked to research projects from the University of Granada. The programme brings together three competitive races and a non-competitive walk along paths and tracks in the Sierra de la Alfaguara. The Marathon totals 42 km and 2,072 m of elevation gain; the Trail, 25 km and 1,151 m; and the Open, 12 km and 630 m. The Walk shares the 12 km route with the Open. The courses are circular and take place in the surroundings of the Natural Park Sierra de Huétor.
