Courel Mountain Running

El Courel Mountain Running celebrará su segunda edición el 29 de agosto de 2026 en Folgoso do Courel, Lugo. The Town Council of Folgoso do Courel organises this trail running event together with the Federación Galega de Atletismo, which is included in the regional calendar and linked to the Campeonato Xunta de Galicia de Carreras de Montaña–Trail Running. The day offers two circular mountain routes with start and finish in front of the Town Council, within the Trail Running Center and the UNESCO World Geopark Montañas do Courel. The short race climbs to the pico do Coto and totals 7,5 km with 500 metres of elevation gain; the long race reaches 17,4 km and 1.450 metres of ascent.
