Cursa La Marrana

The Cursa La Marrana is held in the Vallter 2000 area and runs almost entirely through the Natural Park de les Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser, in high mountain terrain and along technical trails. The event offers a demanding profile, with 4 circuits and a main route of 24.5 km and +1900 m, reaching a maximum altitude of 2881 m at the Pic de Bastiments, as well as shorter routes for different categories. The race combines timing with a chip, with intermediate refreshment stations only on the long distance and a final refreshment station for all categories. The local atmosphere is of a classic skyrace, with a strong presence of elevation gain, mandatory equipment control and special attention to respect for the natural environment. Several distances count towards the Copa Catalana de Curses per Muntanya, and the start and finish are located in the Vallter 2000 area.
