Taga 2040

La Taga 2040 celebrates its 27th edition in the setting of the Serra Cavallera, between Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Ogassa and the iconic peak of the Taga. The event maintains the original spirit of mountain races, with routes that alternate between track, trail and ridge sections, and a highly recognisable ascent to the Puig Estela and the Taga, two summits that dominate the pre-Pyrenean landscape of Ripollès. Its course combines demanding elevation gain, technical passages and panoramic sections, making it a much-loved fixture for fans of classic trail running. The organisers provide shower facilities, full course marking and several liquid and solid refreshment stations depending on the distance, as well as control at critical points and medical assistance during the race. The main distances are 28, 15 and 9 km, and the PuigestelUP is also held, a vertical race restored in 2026 with two variants. The main event is not recommended for under 18s, and the youth categories start from 15 years old on the shorter routes.
