Leguas Serranas

Leguas Serranas will celebrate its 6th edition on 24 October 2026 in La Zarza, organised by the Club de Senderismo Peñas Blancas and the Town Council. The endurance event is held under a semi-self-sufficiency format and allows participants to progress running or walking, with trekking poles as the only authorised equipment. The routes run mainly along public-use roads and paths, although the longer course includes a section authorised by private estates only on the day of the event. The programme includes the Walk X Leguas Serranas, 50 km and 1,800 m elevation gain, and the Walk V Leguas Serranas, 25 km and 1,000 m elevation gain. The long format has a maximum time of 13 hours; the short one closes at the end of the first. The organisers will provide the GPS tracks for both routes and set checkpoint controls and refreshment stations during the day.
