The Trail Nieva de Cameros runs through the mountains of the Camero Nuevo, in the Rioja mountain range that separates the Iregua and Najerilla valleys. Its marathon totals 47 kilometres and 2,350 metres of elevation gain through beech woods, reforested pine forests and the bare summits of the watershed, in one of the least visited and best preserved areas of La Rioja. The start and finish are located in the village square, and the event forms part of the Circuito Riojano de Trail Mountain Races Chiruca Experience, where it scores at the same time in the special long-distance league and in the short-distance cup thanks to its range of routes. Alongside the marathon, a half marathon and a short race are also contested, which also works as a popular walk.
