Vertical de la Viorna

The Vertical de la Viorna will take place on Saturday 12 December 2026 in Potes, Cantabria. The event appears in the 2026 mountain running calendar of the Federación Cántabra de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada as the Campeonato de Cantabria de Clubes de carreras verticales, consolidating itself as one of the end-of-season fixtures in Liébana. The scheduled route is a vertical race of 3 kilometres and 775 metres of elevation gain. The format climbs from Potes towards the Cruz de la Viorna, on a short and very demanding course due to its steep gradient, designed to tackle the mountain in the form of continuous ascent.
