Cross Trail El Portús

The Cross Trail El Portús is held at the Cartagena Provincial Council in El Portús, a cove set between mountain ranges to the west of Cartagena. The route, short and accessible, starts and finishes at the beach campsite and climbs via tracks and paths up to the hills that close off the cove, with the sea always in view. Its moderate elevation gain and distance make it a good entry point to mountain running races. It is organised by the Club Deportivo Manzanicos with the collaboration of the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, the Sports Department of Cartagena, and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, and it scores for the Trail Tour FAMU. It takes place the same weekend as the Trail Sendero del Agua de Galifa within the Trail Running Festival de Cartagena, with a combined race number for those who run both events.
